Cryogenic Heat Treatment Guarantees a Sharp, Dependable Blade
The EL-01 offers a full, 3.4-inch, AUS8 stainless steel blade that has an attractive satin finish and decorative engraving. This blade has undergone SOG's proprietary Cryogenic Heat Treatment process, which ensures that the blade will stay sharp over the long haul. This intensive process takes more than 48 hours and involves slowly reducing the blade's temperature to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit, then slowly heating the blade to room temperature. The stress created by this process strengthens the steel on an atomic level and increases the blade's overall durability and edge retention.

Heavy-Duty Components Meet Professional Needs
Designed for electricians, homeowners, and contractors, the EL-01 includes three separate systems to handle everything from fine multi-strand wire to thick cable. The EL-01 includes a stripper bar for wire sizes ranging from 12-22 gauge, an adjustable spring-loaded UTP/wire stripper, and a patent-pending hole stripper. Other contractor-specific features include schematic grips and an insulator thumb stud.
